Give your topic a relevant title including whether items are FOR SALE or you want TO BUY them

Use the description on the thread to say how long the post is valid until - e.g. "Everything must go by 31.01.2008"

All communication must be done through PM or the contact details listed.

In your post mention, when possible

- Individual items and their price (and if applicable if there is a discount for say buying all the items - e.g. as part of a moving sale)
- Links to product pages (e.g. for furniture) and pictures (don't upload them to VE but use a service like Flickr to do so)
- The condition of the goods (e.g. as new, used once, unused, approx. age)
- If possible also include the dimensions of the product - this can be helpful for people to work out whether they can transport goods in a car or whether they need to hire a van
- Technical specifications (in particular for electronics - an advert which includes full specifications will be more likely to get a quick and positive response than if people have to ask numerous questions about it)
- Contact details - how should purchasers contact you (including an email address or telephone number if you don't want to use the pm function.)
- How long is the post valid until (e.g. to be sold by mid-January)
- Where the goods are to be collected from (e.g. which district)

Vienna is like an Ikea sofa - you know you should upgrade, but why bother when it is this comfortable.

Please try to stick to the guidelines above when posting anything in this section, especially:
Give your topic a relevant title including whether items are FOR SALE or you want TO BUY them

Use the description on the thread to say how long the post is valid until - e.g. "Everything must go by 31.01.2008"
If whatever you are selling has been sold, please either comment on your original post so we can delete it, or delete the post yourself.

On request we unlocked the reply function in the classifieds section.

We locked it in preparation of a standard form to be used in future, but also to make sure the for sale/looking to buy section would stay focused on what it is... a classifieds section where people want to sell or buy something.

Please only reply to a post in the classified section when you want more information or have anything of value to add, and refrain from making comments that are not relevant to the original post.

Thank you very much!!

I would like to make a quick reminder to buyers and sellers to read the very short instructions in this thread and to refrain from making personal, derogatory or completely off-topic posts in reply to BUY/SALE items.

Buying and selling items personally is always a little more stressful than buying from a known retail company, therefore all sellers could expect some discussion of the price and conditions, and buyers should know they are entering a contract with limited possibility of recourse.

Viennt Expats is not a dedicated auction site like ebay, and we do not have the resources to check and confirm prices, sales or payments. That is the responsibility of both the buyer and seller.

We provide a classified service to use; if that service is abused by anyone they could find they are banned from the site for period of time.
