This seems like the appropriate thread.

Elisabeth Fritzl is dating her 29 year old bodyguard. He has moved into the home which she lives with her 6 sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters.

I am not really sure what to think about this. She has stopped going to her shrink now because she says her love for him is the best medicine.

All I know is that Thomas W. (the boyfriend) must have some balls for making THAT move.

The Votivkirche is currently being transformed into a medieval church for the filming of The Pillars of the Earth. The main part in the movie has Donald Sutherland.

The church is right at the doorstep of my work at Rooseveltplatz and today we were wondering where the 20-30 or so big vans came from (Hungary and other countries) and what they were doing there.
The answer

Its a film crew!

I wonder if we get some famous person to see ... or even if we can do some autograph hunting...

Bad news about Simon MacCorkindale.

I am devastated - I love his acting and he is my favourite character in Casualty.

It was just a matter of time before Hollywood remakes Ray Harryhausen's work in CGI.

As a scientist, I think it's great when serious research like this can have public outreach spin-offs

As a TV viewer, I think it's great when public spectacle broadcasting can have serious reseach spin-offs!

Huge Harryhausen fan here. IMO, no reason to fear the remake. If it's good, then it's another telling of the Perseus legend, which is great. If it sucks, it will still likely result in some people finding the '81 version for the first time as they re-release it on DVD (and possibly - crosses fingers - clean it up for a blu-ray release - already have 7th voyage of Sinbad - Harryhausen on Blu rocks!)

What - Diane?

Well, I guess Woody Allen is enough to turn any woman that way.

Where is the "add new topic" button gone?
Here's something interesting to practise in restaurants with salad bars:
