Brüno

Post by Ozmatt » Sat Jul 11, 2009 6:08 pm

Saw the new movie from Sascha Baron Cohen last night and it was übergreat. The whole cinema was packed and screaming in laughter.

The movie starts off a bit slow and only kicks in after about 15 minutes. What hit me the most was how angry people get after seeing anything homosexual (although I'm sure the people featured were not the best representatives of Arkansas).

The movie has a good fast pace and I liked the fact that Bruno looks exactly like some of my friends at uni.

And one final point, if you are put off by a spinning and talking penis then you should shut your eyes about halfway through.

Thanks! I was wondering it if is worth going to the cinema for. I have heard it is very similar to Borat, and I can somehow imagine this is true.

seems to be a bit overcomercialized?

a bit? 8O

Welcome to the masses!

I still like Benny hill far more because he's consistantly helairius.

New comedy seems to spend ages setting up a joke that's only really mildly amusing.

In my view quite lame.

...it is easy to be consistent when he actually only had one joke.

Granted he does deliver it well.

Dunno just typed in "freud music" on their search at www.krone.at and....

seems to be quite complementary.

Yeah, but Bruno has how many?

"it's because i'm gay?"
"it's because i'm austrian?"
"it's because i'm sexy?"

I was more talking about slapstick technique.

The movie absolutely rocked. I saw it last night at Artis and the place was PACKED and the entire theater was in tears laughing.

Kronen Zeitung doesn't have a clue.

I didn't really fancy it that much. Fortunately we missed the big storm while we were in the theater. The best line was, "You look like a Latino Paul Giamatti." Otherwise Borat and Ali G are far better characters.

It was a cringe movie almost all the way through, but there were some really really funny scenes that made me laugh out loud.
The psychic scene was just brilliant. As was the humus scene. I preferred it to Borat. I suppose it also depends on your mood and the moment. movies like this can be hit or miss depending on your mood.

Exactly! I even had a fight about it with one of the high-roal moralist. Much better than Borat!

I quite liked it. It was too much in parts, but it's a Sasha BC film - it's to be expected.
I don't usually like 'stupid' movies, but this one made me laugh out loud. I would recommend it.
