Yes lets plan a swap soon! I could use some light reads for when Dominic is up in the middle of the night.

Also out of town all of next week - how about early in the week after next (i.e. around 15-17 September)?

Have you finished The Brothers Karamazov? I didn't get through it. Too much, um, moralizing, I got sick of it.

I did see it in a stage adaptation once, so I do know whodunit. But, for some reason, the prose version...meh.

The same happened with War and Peace though, then I just barreled through the thing and finished (after an opera adaptation AND a film adaptation). Hm. Maybe it's time for a second try, although I did just start The Double, so I might need a Dostoevskypause afterward!

Before the 21st would rock.

And The Book Thief is great, although it did depress me for two days... Fantastic read though.

Aneeq,

We'll be doing more regular bookswaps over the winter - so if you miss this one, all is not lost.

thanks for Your concern,
but the point is that after i finish with my current read, i am out of reading stuff (sometime next week) and then i have to either order books online or spill some euros at the british bookshop. Needless to mention that the guys at the bookshop doesnt have the books or out of stock of my liking and i have to wait till they get it from some where.

There is always also bookcrossing - there are places around town to allow you to get a book to read!

What do you read, what genre? I'm sure if you cried out in panic that someone on the list would have something you hadn't read before...

I can help with Heroic Fantasy/Science Fiction, for example.

anyone open for another bookswap in the next few weeks, or in December before Christmas madness?

also possible would be mid-January, when we're all hankering to curl up in bed to doze off the festivities and wait out winter?

thoughts?

We would be up for one, however please try and not schedule it between 25 Nov and 30 Nov. I will be out of town.

Thanks in advance.

Days that would be great for me would be Nov. 17 (Monday next), 19th (Wednesday), or December 1st (Monday).

Fridays are also good for me, except this Friday, but I think people might already have Friday plans. If not, say so!

Please weigh in with dates that are good for you and we'll set a confirmed date!

Another book swap?

Post by _kat_ » Wed Nov 12, 2008 5:55 am

i think monday the 17th is good . wedn the 19th might be a bit problematic as there is a quiz at pointers - it starts at 7, so theoretically we could still meet up at 6 but reserving a table ot two would be highly advisable

I will go with the 17th or 19th. Now i am a bit of a pirate and would gladly walk non-book people off the plank. Quick question, where would we hoist the plank at Pointers?

Now we haven't heard from MH yet on this topic. What are his views (1), and does he need a charismatic relacement (2), now he stores the surplus I believe (3)?

Please debase me on any of the above points. Barring that if the suplus needs to be stored I will take the first two bags, small preferably.
