MA35 – Revised Locations for services for EEA Citizens from 3 August 2020

Stadt Wien’s MA35 (Magistratisches Amt 35) is the institution known to most foreigners in Vienna as where you go to get paperwork for residency dealt with, in particular for your Anmeldebescheinigung or your Bestätigung des Daueraufenthalts. And of course also for naturalisation.

EEA (EU-28 and Iceland, Norway and Switzerland) citizens have previously most recently been handled at a single location in the 12th district (Meidling) at Arndtstraße 67.

From Monday, 3 August 2020, MA 35’s Referat for EEA citizens will split into two offices. If your Hauptwohnsitz in is districts 3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13,14 or 23, you can continue to go to the MA35’s premises at Arndtstraße 67, 1120 Wien.

From 02.08.2020 appointments at Arndtstrasse can be made up to five weeks in advance online at: https://www.wien.gv.at/bkatermin/internet/Startseite.aspx?vkz=ma35&gf=r5vor

For EEA citizens with Hauptwohnsitz in districts 1,2,9,15,16,17,18,19,20,21 and 22, there will be a new office at Karmelitergasse 9/1, 1020 Wien.

Please be advised that appointments are currently required due to regulations aimed at stopping the spread of Covid-19.

British citizens may continue to use these offices for MA35 until the end of the transition period after EU withdrawal (ie up to 31.12.2020) – information verified by HM Embassy in Vienna.
